Lena' Lewis

Lena' Lewis
Lena’ Lewis joined KUSI NEWS in November of 2001. She is a reporter and frequent fill-in anchor for KUSI NEWS at Six, Ten, and 11 p.m.

Lena' is an award-winning journalist whose career began in Yuma. Arizona. After a stint which earned her several Associated Press Awards, Lena’ moved on to El Paso, Texas where she was the market’s highest-rated main anchor.

Her success in El Paso attracted the attention of KDFW in Dallas, America’s eighth largest television market. Lena’ was hired as a reporter and anchor. Through her reporting as the station’s primary correspondent on education issues, Lena’ broke many exclusive stories and was happy to make a positive impact on her community.

After two years in Dallas, Lena’ got the call which brought her back home to her native southern California. She was hired as a correspondent for KABC and as an anchor for KCOP in Los Angeles. Even though L.A. is the country’s second biggest television market, Lena’ had a desire to call America’s Finest City “home.”

A graduate of Cal State Northridge, Lena’ is the daughter of missionaries. She spent her formative years growing up in Spain and Costa Rica and is fluent in Spanish. In fact, "La Prensa" recently recognized Lena’ for her reporting on the janitor’s strike of 2005 and she’s been the Spanish-language emcee of the San Diego Police Department’s “Take Back The Streets” march.

Lena’ loves San Diego, and the people in it. The motto she lives by and encourages others to do is, “Follow Your Dreams!”
