Traffic reporter Phil Konstantin joined “Good Morning San Diego” in May 2005. He had been doing traffic reports on KGTV for the California Highway Patrol since 1997.

Phil was once a computer operator in Mission Control for NASA during the Apollo Missions. Before coming to KUSI NEWS, he was a California Highway Patrol officer for 20 years, working in Los Angeles and San Diego. Phil has written over 100 newspaper and magazine articles, and he is the author of a book on American Indian history. “Officer Phil” has three children and is an enrolled member of the Cherokee Nation.
