GENERAL ASSIGNMENT REPORTER/ANCHOR

KUSI NEWS is looking for a full-time general assignment reporter/anchor.

Job requirements: Must have a minimum of five years experience as a General Assignment Reporter/Anchor. Will cover news stories assigned by management. Required to submit story ideas, attend meetings and should build a network of news resources to contact. Must exercise good judgment on reporting news that is accurate, balanced, fair and interesting.

Job Skills: Candidate must have excellent communication, writing, editing, and interviewing skills. Must have strong live shot skills, organizational skills, be able to handle constructive direction and criticism well and have the ability to work under pressure with deadlines. Candidate must stay on top of current events and market newscasts.

NEWS PRODUCER

KUSI NEWS is looking for a full-time news producer.

Job requirements: Must have a minimum of 3-5 years TV News Producing Experience in mid to major market size. Candidate will assist in writing stories, monitor incoming affiliate feeds on a daily basis, assist in the selection of video for open of the broadcast, will assist Executive Producer in reading report scripts to make sure they are factual, balanced and clear. Will monitor the progress of assigned stories and will coordinate with the studio director to control the news broadcast from start to finish.

Job Skills:: Candidate must have excellent writing, spelling, grammar and proofreading skills. Must exercise excellent organizational and planning skills, and have good judgment. Must have the ability to perform duties and make decisions under extreme pressure and under a deadline while multi-tasking. Requires exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

NEWS PRODUCTION ASSISTANT

KUSI NEWS is looking for a part-time news production assistant.

Job requirements: College degree in Communications, Journalism or Mass Media, preferred or in progress. Will be assisting producers in getting the daily broadcast on and off the air with a minimum amount of problems. Will tear and distribute scripts to news and production crew, log new tapes for news stories, locate file video requested by producers or reporters, help maintain video library, write teases and stories, and other duties as assigned by producers. Must have flexible schedule.

Job Skills: Ability to write clear, concise English, Computer literate, Must be familiar with Broadcast style writing, Familiarity with teleprompter, ability to follow directions, detail oriented, ability to work in a fast paced environment, ability to take direction, and able to multi-task.

NEWS WRITER

KUSI NEWS is looking for a full-time news writer.

Job requirements: Must be a top notch, experienced news writer. Minimum two to three years experience in a newsroom writing stories in Broadcast Style. Will write stories assigned by the news producers, log video tapes, write scripts for anchors, write teases, promos, read wires for late breaking stories, assists reporters, and will check out news stories by telephone. Must have flexible schedule.

Job Skills:: Ability to write clear, concise English in broadcast style, ability to write quickly and under pressure, computer literate including Internet research, good organizational skills, excellent communicator both orally and written, excellent spelling and grammar and fast and accurate typing speed.

DIRECTOR/TECHNICAL DIRECTOR

KUSI NEWS is looking for a full-time Director/Technical Director.

Job responsibilities: Direct and Technical Direct our Newscasts. Candidate must have experience directing and switching fast moving live news. Experience with GVG 3000 or 4000 switcher, video servers, digital effects, Chyron and Aprisa graphics preferred. Directing and AVID Media Composer editing skills helpful. Will maintain quality standards in all productions, supervise and train Production crew as needed and assist Operations Manager in evaluation of Production Staff. Candidate must be familiar with Studio Lighting, Master Control & Satellite systems and Still Store/CG Operation.

Job Skills: Candidate must have three years broadcast TV experience. Preferred four-year college education or equivalent additional experience. Must have Technical Directing skills verifiable by tape and references. Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends. Must be well organized and able to multitask.

PRODUCTION ASSISTANT

KUSI NEWS is looking for a part-time production assistant.

Job requirements: Minimum two-year college education or equivalent additional experience. Candidates should have a minimum of two years experience operating a studio camera, audio equipment and videotape machines. Must be familiar with studio and remote lighting techniques, floor directing, videotape machine operation, set up and editing. Should have experience switching and digital effects operation, lighting techniques, and studio remote. Master Control and Chyron Infinit experience preferred.

Job Skills: Must be able to work independently or as part of a team in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment. Must be familiar with television production equipment and have basic computer skills. Must be able to stand on feet for long periods of time, must be detail oriented, and must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends and must be able to work overtime when required

EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT

KUSI NEWS is looking for a full-time executive assistant.

Job requirements: Will be functioning in an administrative assistant support role.  Will prepare correspondence and assist with reports, schedule meetings, maintain records, assist with special projects and other duties as assigned. 

Job Skills: Must have strong computer skills on PowerPoint, Word and Excel.  Should have excellent written and verbal communication skills.  Must posess excellent public relations and customer service skills, and a solid understanding of marketing concepts.  Must be detail-oriented, organized, flexible, and able to multi-task.  Must be able to work independently in a team environment, be a fast and accurate typist, and have solid experience with office machines such as fax machines, copiers and computers.
