Lockdown lifted at Chollas Creek school after armed domestic violence suspect reported nearby

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) — A Chollas Creek elementary school was on lockdown Wednesday while police searched for an armed domestic violence suspect in the area.

The lockdown at John Marshall Elementary School in the Chollas Creek neighborhood of San Diego has been lifted, school district officials advise.

The roughly 40-minute precautionary alert at the Altadena Avenue campus went into effect in the early afternoon as officers searched the area for a possibly armed vandalism and domestic-violence suspect, according to police.

The man was not found, an SDPD spokesman says.

Police received reports just before 12:30 p.m. of an armed man in the area of the campus at 3550 Altadena Avenue.
