Event Description

Support the Center for Community Solutions at their 2nd Annual Chef Showdown 2006 - Taking a Stand Against Domestic Violence. The fundraiser, which honors Domestic Violence Awareness Month, will feature 10 chefs from restaurants throughout the county, including Victor Jimenez, JRDN at Tower 23; Amy Dibiase, Baleen; Augie Saucedo, Marine Room; Brian Malarkey, Oceanaire; Neil Clooney, Cantina; Paul McCabe, J. Taylor’s at L’Auberge Del Mar; Maryjo Testa, Salad Style; and Riko Bartolome, Asia-Vous.

Guests will sample delicious and unique food items from some of the county’s leading restaurants while enjoying beverages, cocktails and live entertainment. A silent auction will feature a variety of specialty items, events and vacation opportunities. You can even bid for a seat at the Chef Showdown judge’s table.

When San Diego’s own version of “Iron Chef” gets underway, lively commentary will be provided by co-hosts Bernard Guillas, executive chef of the Marine Room; Emmy award winner, Sam Zien, a.k.a “Sam the Cooking Guy” and Isabel Cruz, executive chef of Cantina. Local food and entertainment critics along with a few lucky guests will judge the entries.

Funds raised through Chef Showdown will go to support sexual assault and relationship violence prevention and intervention programs at CCS.
