Turko Says San Diegans Pay Too Much For Trash
Tuesday, April 15, 2008 - KUSI's Michael Turko has been investigating the cost of trash and recycling pick-up in the City of San Diego for more than a month now. Tonight, Turko shows us some startling figures, and gets some surprising reaction from the mayor's office.
In most cities, homeowners pay to have their trash picked up on a monthly basis. But the City of San Diego can't do that because the voters banned it in a citizens initiative back in 1919. So we pay for those services with our property taxes, and my investigation shows we pay way too much! |
