Thursday, April 24, 2008 - KUSI's Michael Turko has two more successes to add to a long list of helping people who have no where else to turn. Turko says they both involve local residents getting involved, and working together for change.

A lot of East County residents put their hearts and souls into Jess Martin Park. It's on county land, and for years it was maintained by local volunteer groups. But rising costs and insurance problems made that impossible. The park was close to being bulldozed into the ground, but now local voters have put up the cash to make it better than ever.
