Wednesday, April 30, 2008 - KUSI's Michael Turko has been digging deeper into the City of San Diego's trash collection program after his stories about fees for trash cans. Turko says he caught city officials working on a plan for new trash fees at a recent meeting of a city council sub-committee.

Taxpayers were outraged when Turko exposed a new city policy to charge homeowners big bucks to replace aging city trash cans. Now his investigation shows they're working on a plan to start charging for trash pickup too. They can't even tell us how high the fees will be, or how they'll convince the public they need to pay up!
