Del Dios Safety Standoff
Tuesday, April 28, 2009 - A North County man called KUSI's Michael Turko when county officials ordered him to tear down a wall in front of his house. Those officials tell Turko they're trying to protect drivers on a county highway, but the homeowner says he's trying to protect his home.
What we have here is a house that used to sit next to a narrow county road. Now that road is a busy highway, with a right of way that keeps expanding. You're not allowed to build in the right of way, but the homeowner says he had no choice. Now he's locked in a battle with count officials that's become a safety standoff. |
