Five Years And Counting
Wednesday, June 17, 2009 - Community leaders called KUSI's Michael Turko when a partnership between the city of San Diego and the school district went nowhere. Turko says the city promised to put in a new joint-use park on school district property years ago, but it still hasn't happened.
How long should it take to convert a one-point-six acre vacant lot into a grass covered athletic field? One year? Two or three? Would you believe five years and counting. Now remember this is a city job, so take your best estimate and double it. But come on, they've done enough foot dragging here to stop a runaway roller coaster. And they haven't moved a single shovel of dirt! It ain't right! |
