KUSI's Michael Turko Investigates Local Piece Of Open Land
A lot of people don't even know about a big chunk of undeveloped space off the end of the Palomar Airport runway -- several hundred acres of canyon land criss-crossed by makeshift trails. Mountain bikers love it and they're fighting to get it re-opened to the public, but there's an incredible maze of red tape surrounding the land the locals call Flightline.

For years, it has been a mountain biker's paradise on the eastern ridge of Carlsbad. It's a beautiful environment from the top all the way down into the canyon. However, a few months back, the area was fenced off by a conservation group called the Center for Natural Lands Management.
