County Compounds Casa de Oro Tree Debacle
Wednesday, August 12, 2009 - KUSI's Michael Turko is caught up in a tug of war with San Diego county officials over the destruction of some ancient trees. Turko says the trees were cut down illegally last spring, but the county is keeping the details under wraps.
This one should have been a simple story about a misguided tree cutting incident in Casa de Oro. And that's what it would have been, until county bureaucrats got involved. Now its become a mind numbing saga of inactivity, delay and obfuscation. Who cut the trees? And why hasn't anything been done about it? Now I'm no bureaucrat, but it seems to me those are two simple questions! |
