Linda Vista's Wall of Shame Renovation
Tuesday, September 15, 2009 - Linda Vista residents are thanking KUSI's Michael Turko for helping them get rid of some serious urban blight in their neighborhood. Turko opened a file on the situation in January of last year, and kept the heat on until he got results.
I opened a file on this case when neighborhood leaders called me asking for help. They'd been trying to get something done about a dangerous abandoned eyesore for almost a decade. So I put this former supermarket on my Wall of Shame, and started pressuring city officials. Two city attorneys promised action. Now a year and a half later, the problem has finally been solved. |
