Salon Worker Sparks Tuberculosis Warning

Salon Worker Sparks Tuberculosis Warning
San Diego County health officials are warning the public about a possible exposure to tuberculosis at a City Heights hair salon.

Officials say the warning affects anyone who visited Tommy's Unisex Hair Salon at 3523 El Cajon Boulevard.

Clients and co-workers may have been exposed between February 17th and October 24th.

Officials say the worker is being treated for TB and is no longer infectious.

But anyone who was in the salon for at least two hours straight or made several visits totaling eight hours from February to October should contact their doctor.

If you don't have a doctor, contact the county's TB Control Program at (619) 692-8621.

Symptoms include: persistent cough, fever, night sweats and unexplained weight loss.
