Tuesday, June 26, 2007 -- Crews recovered the body of a maintenance worker who apparently drowned when he fell into a pond on the golf course at La Costa Resort and Spa today. Co-workers sent out an emergency call at about 8:30 this morning. When rescue divers arrived on the scene, they found the man's body tangled in weeds about 12 feet below the surface of the pond. An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.
A masked gunman robbed a Burger King in North Park this morning. Police say the robber entered the restaurant on El Cajon Boulevard shortly after 8:30 this morning. He reportedly pointed a pistol at the clerk and demanded cash, then took off with an undisclosed amount when she opened the register. And in Washington, the senate voted to bring back the immigration bill today. The bill would give millions of illegal immigrants a path to citizenship. But conservative critics say the bill would provide amnesty for illegal immigrants. |
