“Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood” debuted 50 years ago today

On this Presidents’ Day, we also remember Mr. Rogers.

The iconic Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood debuted on this day 50 years ago! Fred Rogers died of stomach cancer in 2003 at age 74, leaving a legacy of kindness, love, and acceptance. A film starring Tom Hanks as Rogers is in production.

A new stamp of Mr. Rogers will be issued in March of 2018.
