Paul Rudy's TV career started in Madison, Wisconsin in the summer of 1984. A full-time tennis instructor, Rudy was hired as a news photographer at WKOW-TV. Three disastrous weeks later, Rudy was demoted to the sports department.

 Twenty-five years and six cities later, Rudy is beginning his 11th year at KUSI-TV, and his 10th season as the host of the Prep Pigskin Report. "Bits of the PPR were born in various cities across the United States. The show's concept originated in Green Bay. We tweaked it considerably in Ft. Myers, Florida, and overhauled it again in Kansas City. I  even swiped some ideas while working at Fox Sports in LA."

A creator of original sports programming in every city he's worked, Rudy says the Prep Pigskin Report is his crowning achievement. "It's the Sgt. Pepper of my career, and I couldn't have done it without a little help from my friends!  I know some folks dismiss it as 'just a high school football show,' but I couldn't be prouder of what we have built here in San Diego."

What's your fondest PPR memory?:  There are too many to mention. Robbie Rouse's blue shoes at last year's Gala come to mind just off the top of my head, but anytime a mom or dad thanks me for a show that gets their kids home early on a Friday night certainly puts a smile on my face. These days there are not that many entertainment options for the entire family. The PPR is unique in that way. It's very Mayberry!

How do you accessorize your PPR Jacket?:
My problem is just keeping a PPR Jacket in my possession. Usually by Week 3 Willis has lost his and mine will suddenly disappear. Go figure. But on formal occasions, I  find the Jacket with pleated black trousers are very slenderizing. The Jacket is also useful  should you get lost in a snowstorm! NASA has reported that PPR jackets  actually show up in satellite imagery taken  from the orbiting Space Station!
