Thursday, March 10, 2011 - KUSI's Michael Turko opened this file over a year ago when a downtown bridge project got way behind schedule. The completion date was moved back at least three times since then. But now Turko says it's just about done, and he's impressed!
What do you get when you take 27 million bucks, hire one of the top engineering firms in the country, and tell them to build a pedestrian bridge like nothing anyone's ever seen before? You get a civic icon that links Petco Park to San Diego Bay, something people will be talking about for years. And something that's so unusual it took twice as long to build it as anyone expected. But the end result really is a one of a kind structure. We have the only one there is!
