Solving the Pension Crisis: The Fight to Get It on the Ballot

The city of San Diego faces a long term budget crisis, and city workers' pensions are at the core of the problem. Current worker pension debt will climb to hundreds of millions of dollars if things are left the way they are. Some believe comprehensive pension reform is required, and they are circulating a petition to put these measures on the ballot next June.

The pension reform measure will go to the voters in the June primary if there is enough support to put it on the ballot. Thursday night, KUSI aired a special, "Pension Crisis: The Fight to Get it on the Ballot." You can re-watch the special by clicking on the video above.

KUSI supports pension reform, and hopes after viewing the special you will choose to sign the petition, and give voters a chance to take control of San Diego's budget and our future.

Volunteers will be out in full force Thursday evening to gather signatures for the pension reform ballot measure. Visit one of the several locations around the City after 5:00 pm to help reform San Diego's pension system:
