Monday, November 7, 2011 - Homeowners with solar power systems called KUSI's Michael Turko when they didn't get what they expected from SDG&E. Turko says 1,5OO customers who generated extra power for the big utility aren't getting much to show for it.
Two years ago the legislature required power companies to pay homeowners who produce extra electricity with solar panels. But customers say SDG&E started the payment program almost a year late, and they're paying far less than expected. Solar power may be the wave of the future, but SDG&E is still doing business the old fashioned way: buy low, sell high!
