Monday, December 12, 2011 - Neighbors in Oceanside called KUSI's Michael Turko when their streets went dark. Turko says a running battle between the city and their own homeowners association has cost them their street lights.
Everyone agrees the light poles need to be replaced. But the city wants the HOA to pay for that, and the HOA says it's a city problem. The dispute has been going on so long that the city says it's become a public safety issue. They don't want poles falling down in the street... so they had the streetlights taken out!
