Monday, January 16, 2011 - San Diego county has more veterans than any other county in the USA, and right now way too many of them are coming home with debilitating injuries. Late last summer I went to bat for a special group home for those wounded warriors on a street project out front. And just a few days ago city workers finally got the job finished!
Now here's a story where I got to help out a veteran of a war that ended over half a century ago she was an army nurse in World War II. She's eighty four years old and going strong... at least she was until an elevator malfunction left her stranded in her own home. But now that problem is history too, the elevator and the veteran nurse are back on the go!
