SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Veteran musical acts Bob Dylan and The Who will both make tour stops at the Valley View Casino Center in San Diego, their publicists announced Wednesday.
Dylan will bein San Diego on Oct. 24, performing with 1980s guitar whiz Mark Knopfler, the founder of Dire Straits. Tickets go on sale Aug. 4.
The Who, with two remaining original members, will perform its 1973 rock opera "Quadrophenia" in its entirety, along with selected classic songs, in a North American tour that begins in November and comes to San Diego on Feb. 5.
Tickets go on sale Friday for members of the band's official fan club. Public sales begin July 27.
Singer Roger Daltrey and guitarist Pete Townshend will be backed by a variety of musicians. The roster includes Pete's brother, Simon Townshend, on guitar and backing vocals.
The senior Townshend said he loves performing all of the songs on "Quadrophenia" because they have a natural flow.
"The real high point for me is always the final song `Love Reign O'er Me,"' Townshend said. "Roger and I now stand almost alone together, representing not only the original band, but also its mod audience, and of course all our other early fans."
