SAN DIEGO (KUSI) - A section of the I-805 north will be closed overnight Monday through Thursday for the installation of median barriers, according to Caltrans.
For four days from 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m., all lanes of the northbound I-805 from La Jolla Village Drive/Miramar Road to I-5 will be closed. Drivers will be routed by detour signs to westbound SR-52 and then to northbound I-5.
Drivers will be restricted from reaching I-805 north from La Jolla Village Drive/Miramar Road and vice versa but the exit at Nobel Drive or Governor Drive will be available.
The construction is stage one of the I-805 North Express Lanes Project which will widen the freeway for four carpool lanes.
The total cost of the project is $587 million with $86 million going towards stage one. Funds come from local, state and federal sources including TransNet, a half-cent sales tax used for transportation projects.
