Over the last 20 years there has been some great players to be picked 3rd in the NFL Draft, such as Matt Ryan, Joe Thomas and Larry Fitzgerald. There have also been some disasters, Trent Richardson, Vince Young and Joey Harrington. The Chargers could be next with the pressure of finding a solid 3rd pick. Will is be Deforest Buckner out of defensive end out of Oregon? Or will the Chargers go offense and pick Laremy Tunsil tackle from Mississippi? The truth is no one knows. Six days out Chargers General Manager Tom Telesco isn't giving anything away.
"We're going to take our six days of allotment that they are giving us and see what our options are on Thursday and go from there," says Telesco.
There is also the chance that the team trades down.
"I feel like we're in a really good spot. Obviously there will be a great player there for us to take. If there is a trade there that makes sense for us we could move back and acquire some picks either this year or next year or both. That would be a great option too. So we will kinda see how it plays out," says Telesco.
Telesco did say with the trades going on above them it has streamlined his thinking on what direction they would go with pick, knowing it is very likely quarterbacks will go number one and two.
The Chargers also are in a position where they have high draft picks in every round. Something San Diego isn't accustomed to and Telesco would like to make the most of.
