PREVIEW: `We have reached double digits. As week ten of the Prep Pig Skin Report is Report is just over the horizon. Teams are just two games away from ending their regular season. In their second to last game, the La Jolla Vikings host the University City Centurions in a conference game Friday night.
Both teams are sitting at 4-4 on the season. However University City has an edge up in the league with a 2-1 record. They sit in second place, behind Patrick Henry. The Vikings hold third with one win and one loss in the league.
The Centurions are prepping for their fourth consecutive conference game. They are coming off of a 34-14 loss to Patrick Henry. However, despite the loss, the quarterback could be a force to be reckoned with. Kees Van Daelen finished last week’s game with 124 passing yards and two touchdown passes.
While the Vikings may sit below University City in the league rankings, they are by no means far behind the Centurions when it comes to talented athletes. The Vikings are currently on a role, not only are they coming off of two consecutive wins, but two consecutive shutouts. Last week they beat Kearny 46-0, the previous week they beat Serra 32-0.
To prevent another Vikings shut out the Centurions will have to be all over the Vikings running game. In last weeks matchup with Kearny, even though Vikings quarterback Cole Dimich had 129 receiving yards, all touchdowns were rushing. Daniel Mccoll finishing with two of the five touchdowns.
With Thanksgiving around the corner will the Vikings role out a turkey with their third consecutive shutout, or will the Centurions maintain ahead in the league. Tune into the Prep Pig Skin Report Friday at 10:30 to find out!
