In the final week of the regular season, the University City Centurions shutout the Crawford Colts 35-0, on their senior night.
The game started out with a three and out by the Colts. Then the Centurions offense scored almost immediately. QB Casey Granfors found Gavin Rasmussen in the endzone for a 23 yard TD pass to put University City up 7-0. And the Centurions never looked back.
To round out the first half, Granfors earned a 1 yard touchdown run on the quarterback keeper. K Thomas Reasoner made two field goals from 39 and 30 yards, respectively. The score going into halftime was 20-0.
The second half was all Casey Granfors. He threw a 50 yard touchdown pass, in which the Centurions went for the 2 point conversion and was successful. Then he was breaking ankles left and right as he ran for a 67 yard touchdown.
The final score was 35-0. University City’s defense pulled off the shutout and had an INT in the 4th quarter. The Centurions finish the season at 5-5, Crawford rounds out at 3-7.
Right now, the CIF SDS power rankings have University City ranked 9th in Division 4. Crawford is 10th in Division 5. The final playoff brackets will be released tomorrow, November 5.

Crawford (3-6) is coming off a loss to Kearny last week, the final score was 19-7. The Colts have not won a game since starting the season at 3-0. As a team this season, Crawford’s offense has rushed for nearly 1,000 yards and passed for 275. The Colts have spent their 2016 season playing without a real home field. With the end of the football season near, Crawford will open their brand new stadium in 2017.
University City (4-5) is coming off of a loss as well to La Jolla, 49-8. The Centurions are more of a pass-heavy offense. The team has thrown for 1,830 yards and run for 1,157 yards this season so far. This Friday is also Senior Night for University City.
