Oceanside was not about to go down without a fight and was able to score a touchdown themselves, making that 24 all and leading us into another overtime. Oceanside received the ball first this time and of course was able to score taking an important lead of 31-24. Their defense pulled through and stopped the Wildcats from scoring making the Pirates the City Champions.

The Oceanside Pirates will move into the playoffs at 9-2 next week. Unfortunately for the Wildcats this is the end of their season. To see how far the Pirates make it into the post season tune into the Prep Pigskin Report on KUSI Fridays at 10:30 PM!

PREVIEW: The Pirates from Oceanside (7-2) will be visiting the Wildcats at El Camino (3-6) as they hope to gain another win advancing themselves in their league.

While El Camino is coming off a loss against Carlsbad last week, the Wildcats put up a tough game scoring back and forth and giving the Lancers a run for their money going into the 4th quarter. In order to stop the Pirates, this defense will need play as they did last week. Leading tackles are Jagger Knapp and Josten Ignacio who together total for 188 tackles this year. Jaden Casey will be a big help to this team’s offense having thrown for 1,546 yards and 7 touchdowns. Chris Brown and Wayne Steward both had a great game last week and are sure to deliver again on Friday.

Oceanside has had a pretty good season thus far only giving up two losses to Mission Hills and Torrey Pines. The Pirates have put up many points this season and is clear based on how many yards senior quarterback Max Shuffer has thrown for totaling in 2,205. He won’t be the only player to stop, Jake Bernard has rushed for 396 yards this season and Tevin Meadows for 362. Other players to watch on the Pirates’ offense are Julian Hicks, Jake Gerardi, and Puka Kaleopa-Tuisee who lead their team in receiving yards.
