Bishop's Knights 49, La Jolla Vikings 0

Posted: Updated:

Well that’s a wrap for the quarterfinals for Division 3 as the Knights of Bishop’s High School beat the Vikings of La Jolla High School 49 to 0. The Knights stay perfect with a record of (11-0) and move on to the next round. As for the Vikings they had a great season, but they fell short tonight as they finished their season (7-5). The Knights will host the Jaguars of Valley Center for the semifinals next Friday.

The Knights played spectacular tonight. Especially their defense, they returned 2 fumbles for touchdowns. Also they had five interceptions, one returned for a touchdown. Their defense came ready to play. As for their offense Mozes Mooney was their star player tonight he had 3 total touchdowns. He had two rushing touchdowns and one receiving touchdown. Another player that played well was Hasant Moses he had two total touchdowns. He had one defensive and one offensive touchdown. On defense he returned a fumble for a touchdown and on offense he had a rushing touchdown.

For the Vikings they had a great season and for that they should keep their heads up high. Now for the Knights they need to prepare themselves for those Jaguars because that’s going to be a tough match-up.

PREVIEW- It’s the second week of playoff football, as the #2 seed Knight’s of Bishop's High School host the #10 seed La Jolla Vikings in the Division 3 quarterfinals. This game will be at La Jolla, the reason for that is since it’s playoffs there’s going to be a big crowd and La Jolla’s Stadium will be able to have this big crowd come enjoy the game.

For the Vikings to get here they had to face the #7 seed Del Norte last week at their house and they dominated, beating Del Norte 34 to 0. The Viking sent a statement that game to the Knights saying they’re ready for them. For the Vikings it was an all around effort last week. As you can see their defense didn’t allow a point. Their offense were able to do their part as well scoring 34 points. Vikings’ quarterback Cole Dimich had a great game he only had 1 touchdown pass, but he completed 66% of his passes and did not throw an interception. If the Vikings can repeat what they did Del Norte, the Knights are going to have a tough night.

For the Knights they had a bye week, so they had an extra week of practice, but also an extra week to study their opponents. The Knights went undefeated this season, one reason for that is the play of Jeffrey Jackson. Jackson this season had 35 touchdown passes and 2,876 passing yards. He’s the real deal. What also helps is having Mozes Mooney and Justin Woodley as his receivers. Mooney caught 11 touchdown passes and Woodley caught 10. If this trio can keep up their chemistry, La Jolla’s defense is going to have a long night.

This is going to be an interesting game to watch, you can watch these highlights on Friday Night at 10:30 pm on KUSI’s Prep Pigskin Report.
