Two rockbands are teeming up to raise money for victims of Hurricane Harvey, and one is from right here in San Diego.

Lifehouse and hometown band Switchfoot released a new song called “Shine Like Gold” with all proceeds benefiting a group called Food for the Hungry, which aids in providing emergency food, clean water and more for people affected by the hurricane.

People are able to contribute as much as they can when they download the song here. The bands’ goal is to raise $50,000, which they are quickly approaching.

Switchfoot also announced they would be performing the new song live Tuesday from a shelter in Houston. No other details were provided.

Texans were beginning to recover from the devastating hurricane on Monday, as floodwaters finally receded.

President Donald Trump has asked Congress for a $7.9 billion down payment toward Harvey relief and recovery efforts. Texas Gov. Greg Abbott suggested the cost of recovery could be as much as $180 billion and could take years.
