Going into their second game of the season Serra wants to keep their winning streak going. Last week's game started off a little rough for the Conquistadors as they tracked behind the El Cajon Valley Braves 16-6 in the first half. No obstacle would stop them from getting their first win of the 2017 season. With the help of Sophomore Quarterback Timmy Zebroski, scoring three out of the four touchdowns of the night, Serra made the comeback to take the win 40-16. Regardless of what side of the scoreboard Serra is on expect a showdown.

Southwest sets to recover and learn from small mistakes that cost them two games this season. With 7 fumbles in the last 2 matches, it is vital for the Raiders (SD) to prevent those errors from happening again. Players that will assist with their potential first win of the season are Senior Leonard Hoar, Junior Daniel Belton, and Sophomore Jovan Young. Jovan Young lead the team with 93 rushing yards last game, his speed and ability to gain yardage will be essential for Friday’s matchup.

Southwest Coach and Alumni Paco Silva shared that it will be the Raiders (SD) first time facing Serra in almost 15 years. In preparation for the game he tells the to team to keep their head up, stay committed, and that quitting is not an option. The showdown will be one for the books!
