Two SoCal high schoolers picked as Semper Fi All-Americans

Posted: Updated:

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) — A couple of Southern California kids received a prestigious award over the summer.

Danny Viboch or Rancho Penasquitos and Krystina Lorch from Hemet represented all of Southern California, Hawaii, and Guam as the Semper Fi All-Americans for the southwest region.

About 100 high school juniors were selected for the award out of thousands of applicants. They won an all-expenses paid trip to the Battles Won Academy in Washington D.C. in July.

There the teens participated with U.S. Marine mentors in special activities, competitions and heard from celebrity speakers such as Cal Ripken Jr.
