In Week 3 of high school pigskin, the Castle Park Trojans (0-2) and Coronado Islanders (0-1) are both seeking their first win in their non-conference game this Friday.
Both teams are recuperating from their losses last week; Castle Park lost to the Mar Vista Mariners 34-0 and Coronado lost to the San Ysidro Cougars 41-14.
The Islanders 1st year head coach, Kurt Hines, has high expectations facing the Trojans.
“Last week was a ‘physical’ tough loss but this week should be a good match up,” Coach Hines said.
Hines is referring to the sizes of the previous team(s) but with practice they can draw attention and focus to this weeks game.
“I think this will be a fairly high scoring game between both teams, hoping they don’t score more than us, but our offense needs to move much better than before, we’ll see what happens Friday.”
The game should be very interesting; we’ve got two teams in the hunt for the first W of the season. Will this matchup be enough to put the Islanders back on the map?
Kickoff is set for 7pm at Coronado High School.
