Santa Fe Christian Eagles 58, La Jolla Vikings 14

Posted: Updated:

This Friday night’s matchup at La Jolla High School where the Vikings hosted the Santa Fe Christian Eagles in a clash of division 3 rivals. The pregame ceremony included an annual jersey presentation of former San Diego prep athlete of the year for 1988 Brent Woodall. Brent was a former student of La Jolla Highs School where he starred on the Viking football, basketball and baseball team. Unfortunately, we lost Brent on 9/11 along with 66 of his co-workers in the south tower. This award is given to the Viking student who model excellence not only in the field but in the classroom as well.

After kickoff it was all Santa Fe Christian Eagles with them scoring on their first play form scrimmage. It was a 44 yard touchdown run by Demitri Washington who had a L.T like night with 115 total yards and two touchdowns on the ground and another via a  62 yard TD pass through one quarter. Even the Vikings offense had no answer for the Eagles defense with Washington having 14.5 tackles tonight. The final score was Eagles 58, Vikings 14. Preview

This Friday night’s matchup comes to us at La Jolla High School where the Vikings are hosting the Santa Fe Christian Eagles in a clash of division 3 rivals.

Both teams are looking to get their seasons back on track with a win but only one team can come out victorious this week. The La Jolla Vikings offense are looking to put on a show with starting quarterback Trevor Scully averaging 230 passing yards per game. The Eagles defense is well rounded with Demitri Washington averaging 14 tackles a game and Chase Whitton getting a sack a game. Both teams are trying to bounce back from a loss so both teams should be looking to put up a fight for a victory.

La Jolla’s defense will have a tough battle this week with Santa Fe Christian Eagles quarterback Michael Linguadoca averaging 200 yards per game, hopefully the Vikings Tucker Jacobs who is averaging 8 tackles a game can stop the Eagles offense. This week’s game should be an exciting game to watch in the Jewel Of San Diego.
