Preview: This week’s Game of the Week will take us back to the North County as the San Marcos Knights (4-0) try to defeat the Wildcats from El Camino (3-1) and keep their record undefeated. The Avocado League is underway as well as one of the toughest Leagues in San Diego this year.
The Knights are coming off a big win against the Oceanside Pirates and are being led by junior quarterback Miles Hastings, where we will most likely see him passing the ball to UCLA commit Kyle Phillips who averages 87.5 yards a game. Josh Bornes, an SDSU commit, leads his team in tackles as well as running the ball and scoring 3 touchdowns for the Knights.
The Wildcats may have lost one game, but their scoring this season has been high, which should make for an interesting game against the Knights. Jaden Casey, senior quarterback, has 928 passing yards this season. Malachi Russell, leading receiver for the Wildcats, has caught for 405 yards and scored 5 touchdowns in the first 4 games this year. Chris Brown is another standout at El Camino rushing for 393 yards and scoring 7 touchdowns.
Will the Knights be able to keep their perfect record and defeat another league opponent, or will the Wildcats take down the Knights? Find out on the Prep Pigskin Report Friday at 10:30 pm, and follow @Redjacketarmy on Twitter for game updates!
