Ocean View Christian improve to (2-2) on the season after coming out victorious in Week Six with a 38-6 win over St. Joseph Academy (1-4).
Both teams had a slow start to the game with neither team being able to capitalize offensively.
The pace changed for the Ocean View Christian Patriots during the second quarter with two huge touchdowns, quickly putting them up 14-0 heading into halftime.
St. Joseph Academy had a difficult time containing the edge, so the Patriots shifted their running game to capitalize on the Crusaders defense.
The Patriots came out dominate in the second half as well, gaining momentum from an interception caught by Richard Hayes. A few plays later, junior Diego Orozco sealed a 32-yard field goal to increase Ocean View Christian’s lead to 17-0.
The Crusaders tried to make a comeback, but ended up falling to the Patriots 38-6.
Ocean View Christian will continue their league play next Friday at home against the San Pasqual Academy. The Dragons have forfeited the all of their games this season, but no word yet if this game will happen or not. St. Joseph Academy will travel to Julian next week for a league game against the Eagles. Julian High School is coming off a bye week.

PREVIEW: Another week of football means another week of the Prep Pigskin Report, but this time Week Six is bringing you some 8-man football in the North County.
The Ocean View Christian Patriots (1-2, 0-1) will be taking on St. Joseph Academy (1-3, 1-0) this week, a game that was supposed to be played on September 15th, but was marked as a forfeit for unknown reasons. The game will be played at Connor’s Park Friday night at 7:00 PM.
In game history, St. Joseph Academy has only beaten Ocean View Christian once out of seven match-ups, but the Patriots have been struggling this 2017 season.
Ocean View is coming off a substantial loss to West Shores High School this past week, 62-6. St. Joseph Academy was scheduled to play last week against San Pasqual Academy, but the Dragons forfeited the game.
This week’s game will commence league play for both teams. St. Joseph Academy took the Citrus (8-man) League title last year, going undefeated. This title happened under rookie Head Coach Tom Davis. He is currently within his second year as head coach for the Crusaders, and is hoping to repeat history.
There is no injury report for either team, and both are expected to be playing with full rosters.
Highlights of this game and 21 others from around San Diego County can be seen on the Emmy-Award winning high school football show "Prep Pigskin Report." Kick off is at 10:30 every Friday night during the fall on KUSI-TV Channel 9/51. Live streaming of the show will also be available on KUSI.com.
