Pacific Beach Town Council thanks first responders at 37th annual Police and Emergency Services Appreciation Night

Posted: Updated:

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) — The Pacific Beach Town Council hosted the 37th annual Police and Emergency Services Appreciation Night (PAESAN) Wednesday at the Crown Point Shores Rotary Pavilion.

The Pacific Beach Town Council honored exceptional personnel from each of four departments: San Diego Lifeguards, San Diego Firefighters, Police, and Park Rangers.

Every year, funds are raised to cover equipment costs not provided by the City's budget. Last year enough money was raised to purchase a Yamaha Viking Side-by-Side vehicle for SDPD Beach Patrol.

This year will be Chief Zimmerman's last year attending PAESAN as Chief of Police. She was given a dedicated collage from the town council.

Other dignitaries included Fire Chief Brian Fennessey, Lifeguard Captain James Gartland, Lifeguard Sergeant Gavin McBride, Senior Park Ranger Karolynn Estrada, Senator Toni Atkins, and Assemblyman Todd Gloria.
