The Torrey Pines Falcons came, they saw and they most definitely conquered. The Falcons walked into this week with their mind on a mission and mission on their mind. Although the San Marco’s Knights gave it their all, the Falcons ultimately came out on top clinching a 38-21 win and put San Marco’s 5-game winning streak to rest.
In the first quarter, Torrey Pines quarterback; Jason Heine turned heads with an 84yd pass and play to wide receiver Peter Nelson who completes this jaw dropping play with a touch down. Come 2nd quarter, Heine brings the heat with his feet. That’s right Torrey Pines quarterback goes in for the kill with an 82yd touch down run.
As we progress into the second half, the San Marco’s Knight’s had shown promise for a potential comeback. With plays short, snappy yet very successful we saw quarterback Miles Hastings throw 15yds to defensive end Quinn Roff and then another 38yds to cornerback Ethan Cline, both plays ending with a touch down. By the end of Cline’s touchdown, the score showed 24-21 Falcons.
With this week 7 win teetering in favor of either team, the teeter tottered in favor of the Falcons. Power player, Sully O’Brien picks up a 13yd touchdown run and after an incredible interception by Torrey Pines Peter Nelson, Nelson sets up teammate, Matt Bingham for a game ending 55yd touchdown run. With little time left on the clock to run the game ends with the Falcons coming out on top.
