PREVIEW

The Week 9 South Bay Game of the Week features the Chula Vista Spartans (4-3) hosting the Hilltop Lancers (3-4).

Chula Vista's Head Coach is Howard Bannister who is in his first year.

On offense the Spartans have enjoyed the success of Quarterback Darrion Hamilton who has thrown for

six touchdowns.

On defense Ubaldo Nolasco has been a real tour de force with 10.5 quarterback sacks to his credit.

Hilltop's Quarterback Daniel McPherren has thrown five touchdown passes this year.

One of his favorite targets has been Gus Ferreira who has caught 28 passes this season despite being injured. Last year he won all-section honors when he pulled in 125 passes for 15 touchdowns.

On defense the Lancers are spear headed by David Corona who has 23 solo tackles to his credit.

This has not been an easy season for Hilltop. Because their field is being renovated, they've had to play all their home games at other schools.

Be sure to catch all the highlights from this South Bay rivalry at 10:30 Friday night.
