May 4th....
Storms continue to move into Northern California wiping out the drough conditions in that part of the state. We have had 85 percent of normal rainfall this season; thats no drought. California reservoirs are at 85 percent; thats OK. The Sierra has had plenty of snowfall. The Rockies have had 100 percent snowpack. So please understand the so called Drought Alert is all because of the Court decision based on the protected spieces act and an Envoronmentalist lawsuit to protect the Delta Smelt. So some little trash fish are being given protection while water is limited for millions of people. It is not a meteorological drought problem.
Global Warming is dead. Al Gore's buddies have been advised to not use the express Global Warming to get their way with people anymore. Here is part of the story from the New York Times:
Global Warming. The term turns people off, fostering images of shaggy-haired liberals, economic sacrifice and complex scientific disputes, according to extensive polling and focus group sessions conducted by ecoAmerica, a nonprofit environmental marketing and messaging firm in Washington. Instead of grim warnings about global warming, the firm advises, talk about “our deteriorating atmosphere.” Drop discussions of carbon dioxide and bring up “moving away from the dirty fuels of the past.” Don’t confuse people with cap and trade; use terms like “cap and cash back” or “pollution reduction refund.” To read the entire story go to: http://www.nytimes.com/2009/05/02/us/politics/02enviro.html?_r=2
