10 year anniversary of Chelsea King disappearance

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – Ten years ago on February 25th  Poway High School student Chealsea King went missing. King was abducted and murdered after going on a run in 2010.

For days the San Diego community searched for her. He body was eventually found at Lake Hodges. Now a memorial plaque stands there.

Following King’s death her family helped pass Chelsea’s Law which increases sentencing, prole terms and monitoring for sex offenders who commit crimes against children.

The King family also started a non-profit Chelsea’s Light Foundation that hands out scholarships to San Diego students.
