16th Annual Law Enforcement Challenge Guacamole Bowl

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – Dozens of teams are getting ready for San Diego County’s largest guacamole making competition on Saturday, March 9th.

The 16th Annual Law Enforcement Challenge Guacamole Bowl is at Balboa Park Club and goes from 10 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.

Proceeds benefit: Sports for Exceptional Athletes. A nonprofit organization that provides sporting opportunities for over 1,400 San Diegans with developmental disabilities from ages 5 years old to adulthood.

An $8 donation at the door gets you, entrance into the event, a bag of Mission Chips, live entertainment and a chance to vote for your favorite guacamole recipe.

Over the past fifteen years, the Guacamole Bowl has raised over $154,000 to support local programs for athletes with developmental disabilities, according to retired San Diego Police Officer Matt Weathersby.
