2/23/19 Boys Basketball: Torrey Pines 51, Foothills Christian 47

Foothills Christian played Torrey Pines in the boys basketball Open division championship at UCSD’s RIMAC arena.

The Falcons jumped out to big league in the first quarter and kept their lead until the fourth quarter where the Knights fought back and nearly won the game.

Bryce Pope of Torrey Pines made some late free throws and teammate Noah Viera made a big 3-point field goal to help secure the win.

The Falcons won their first Open division title 51-47.

Bryce Pope scored 11 points, when 5 of 6 from the free throw line and collected 11 rebounds. Bryce;s brother Michael Pope scored 14 points.

Foothills Christian’s Derrick Carter-Hollinger scored a game-high 19 points.

Torrey Pines head coach John Olive won his third CIF title and first open division title.
