2/29/20 Girls Basketball Division I Final: Serra 60, Mission Hills 58

The top two seeds in the girls basketball Division I bracket squaring off for the title at RIMAC Arena as two seed Serra faces top seed Mission Hills.

Grizzly junior Gigi Israel hits the third quarter three to help get Mission Hills back in it.

Lady Q-Dawg captain Angelica McBride scores on the driving lay-up as she finishes the day with a team-high 16 points.

Mission Hills is led by sophomore Jessica Grant, who becomes the county leader in made three pointers for the season; she finishes with a game-high 17.

With under ten seconds to play, Grant steps to the free throw line with a chance to send the game to overtime; she connects on her second free throw to tie it at 58-58.

On the ensuing inbound, Serra’s Lauryn Hill finds captain Charisa Thomas who hits the go-ahead lay-up just before time expires.

The game-winning shot part of her team-high 16 as the Conquistadors win it 60-58 to secure the Division I championship.
