2015 Perfect Game All-American Classic coming to San Diego
SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – The 2015 Perfect Game All-American Classic will be held Sunday, Aug. 16, at 5 pm at Petco Park.
Two local standouts will participate in the game this year include, Mickey Moniak an outfielder from La Costa Canyon High School and Avery Tuck an outfielder Steele Canyon High School. 2015 marks the seventh consecutive year that more than one San Diegan has been named to the team. Last year’s honorees were Kyle Dean and Drew Finley, both from Rancho Bernardo High School.
As for this years San Diegans, Avery Tuck has a wicked arm. His throws from the outfield have been clocked at 90+ MPH. The San Diego State baseball commit, played both baseball and football his junior year, has decided to put his focus on baseball in 2015-16. And it makes makes sense. He is being tabbed as a 1st or 2nd round prospect in the 2016 MLB Draft.
Mickey Moniak is currently in Cary, North Carolina training with the U-18 USA Baseball team. He is ranked as the 3rd best outfield prospect in the nation for the 2016 MLB Draft According to "Baseball America"
The Perfect Game All-American Classic is the premier high school baseball game in the country, and has been held in San Diego in eight of the past nine years.
