2018 Conservative Political Action Conference underway

Vice President Mike Pence and the VP of the National Rifle Association (NRA), Wayne LaPierre, were the main speakers in the second day of CPAC.

With the recent school shooting out of Parkland, Florida, the debate over gun control and safety in our schools is getting a lot of discussion at this year’s CPAC.

In his speech, LaPierre targeted the elites, saying it’s not a safety issue, but a political issue. LaPierre continued saying, “Their goal is to eliminate the Second Amendment in our firearms freedoms so they can eradicate all individual freedom.”

He touched back on this point later in his speech stating, “Their solution is to make you, all of you, less free. They want to sweep right under the carpet, the failure of school security, the failure of family, the failure of America’s mental health system. And even the unbelievable failure of the FBI.”

LaPierre ended his speech by asserting, “Listen to me now, and never forget these words, to stop a bad guy with a gun, it takes a good guy with a gun.”
