3/11/19 Baseball: Rancho Buena Vista 4, Valley Center 0
The Rancho Buena Vista baseball team picked up a big win on Monday, beating Valley Center, 4-0, on a rainy afternoon at Longhorn Park.
The victory came on the heels of a Longhorn 4-game losing streak, including a couple of losses in tournament play.
On the offensive side of the ball, the Longhorns were led by shortstop, Julius Butler. The Senior Infielder had a couple of doubles that resulted in runs for RBV. He ended the day going 2-for-4 with 2 runs scored. He trotted home in the 3rd inning when the pitcher’s throw to 1st base got away, and then later scored on a fielder’s choice grounder to 3rd.
That first run run would’ve been enough because Longhorns starting pitcher, Carson Hamro was dominant on the mound. The Junior went the distance, pitching a Complete-Game, 2-hit shutout. He struck out 15 Jaguars over the 7 innings.
Rancho Buena Vista will travel to Escondido on Thursday, while Valley Center plays Tri-City Christian next week.
