300 feet high sandstorm covers city in northwest China

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – The Chinese city Zhangye was engulfed by a “sand wall” that sparked fires and caused havoc on the roadways.
The sandstorm reached 100 meters high according to the China Meteorological Administration in a Weibo post.
These storms are not unusual in the northeastern region around this time of year, as soil and sand are blown in from the Gobi desert.
