35th Annual Plays by Young Writers Festival

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – Playwrights Project presents the 35th Plays by Young Writers Festival, featuring winning scripts from the 2019 California Young Playwrights Contest for students 18 and under.

This year, the Festival features Love is Blind, the first spoken word production in the 35 year history of Plays by Young Writers.

Contest winners were selected by a panel of esteemed judges from 561 scripts submitted by students statewide. Winning writers focus heavily on revision as they work with theater professionals to develop their plays for production.

School matinee performances take place January 29-31, and the public performance is on February 1st at 7:30 p.m.
