4/17/18 Baseball: La Costa Canyon 5, Canyon Crest Academy 1
First of a three game series as the Canyon Crest Academy Ravens head to Carlsbad to take on the La Costa Canyon Mavericks.
Bottom of the first, LCC’s Dylan Cortinas grounds into left, and Spencer Jones comes home to make it 1-0.
Bottom of the second with one on, Austin Machado clears the right field fence for a two-run home run and a 3-0 lead.
Bottom of the fifth, Machado pops it into center, and Nick Wilkins beats the toss to home as the Mavericks increase their lead to 5-1; that would be the final.
La Costa Canyon remains undefeated 5-0 in conference and 15-5 overall. The two will meet again in game two Thursday.
